Maryland Singer/Songwriters Jen and Scott Smith performing as, Naked Blue, last appeared in the Knoxville area a year ago at The Historic Grove Theater. This time around they will be joined by their musical friend, Jason Harrod. Together they will stop by “Mind Yer P’s and Q’s,” a specialty beverage lounge in Farragut, TN on Wednesday evening, May 18. Music starts at 7pm and is just part of a relaxing experience while sampling some of the finest craft brews and stellar wines at a new venue for discriminating adults in West Knox County.
Exploring the Americana tradition and firmly grounded with a pleasing pop sensibility, the performing songwriter team, have become a mainstay on the folk/pop scene. They quit their day jobs in 1991 and have been writing, recording & performing music ever since. The strength of their songwriting and musicianship is evident in the way they easily transition between full band performances at venues like DAR Constitution Hall, The Kennedy Center & Webster Hall and acoustic shows to small intimate venues and house concerts.
They met Jason Harrod in 2002, when Jen noticed that the Paste Music Magazine’s website said, “if you like Naked Blue, you’ll love Jason Harrod.” Thus their first co-bill tour was conceived that included three weeks on the road playing venues in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes areas including a spot opening for John Mayer. They’ve remained fast friends and fans of one anothers’ music and are excited to be back out on the road together for a quick tour through the Southeast again.
